As you know, however carefully planned an activity is, accidents can happen. If an accident happens on the way to, or during a scouting activity we will administer first aid, and if the young person requires further treatment give you the necessary paperwork to start an insurance claim.
Sometimes there may be an injury which isn’t obvious at the time, or which happens on the journey home. If, as a result, you take your child to the doctor/dentist/hospital, please contact your leader, as soon as possible. FOS and The Scout Association insurers both require information quickly if an accident claim is to be made!
Please download an accident form and explanatory letter asap - see form links on the right of this page. It is important to get this form filled in by the leader and doctor and returned to the FOS insurance company within 8 days.
As with all translations the English form may not always be very clear, please contact the GSL or FOS if you have questions.
This form may also be helpful if we need to involve the TSA insurance- or to give to your own health insurer if applicable.
To see more details of the cover you can visit the following websites FOS open scouting (Dutch website) and UK scout insurance
Please note: Glasses/contact lenses are not covered unless they are damaged in an accident leading to a claim for physical injury.
Personal belongings are not normally covered by our insurance.
For camps outside the Benelux we organise separate travel insurance.
